State of the RBE at the start of 2026

Welcome to the insanity of 2026. So let’s relax for a change with a place where, indeed, “nothing ever happens”.

That place being the RBE crowd, which has now become an extinction-level event in slow motion.

And being in metastasis means we can now group them.

At this point, the broader RBE scene seems to be collapsing into 4 predictable ways:

1. Dead or Near-Dead Projects

These are the ones that are effectively finished, whether they admit it or not. 
The branding may still exist, but the movement energy no longer does.

Designing the Future

Hasn’t written anything since October 2025, hasn’t reshared anything since December 2025, and appears to have no discussion activity at all on Discord.

Practically dead.

The Choice is Ours

Nothing new since it started.

Copiosis

No visible activity in more than a year.

Koto Coop

No visible activity in a year.

 

2. Zombie Rebrands and Institutional Drift

These are not fully dead, but they are no longer building anything substantial either. 
Instead, they seem to survive through scavenging, either brands, ideology, or trying to inherit legitimacy from older projects.

The Venus Project

Since last autumn, it has mostly been posting Jacque Fresco videos, i suspect by the same guy that does this for the Jacque Fresco Foundation as it's only visibly active part of the project, whose website still looks just as incomplete as when it launched.

At this point, they seem to be trying to become the new Jacque Fresco Education Network.

Accessist International (formerly Jacque Fresco Education Network)

Speaking of, it is now officially archived, and succeeded by a wannabe political thing called Accessist International, which still appears to have no visible membership after more than half a year.

Apparently the theory was that finding a catchier name would somehow revolutionize everything.

Meanwhile, he also seems to be trying to take over the corpse of TZM, while their CCR “partners” appear to be trying to absorb them.

The Zeitgeist Movement

Barely any visible activity, outside of undocumented monthly online meetings.

Integral Collective

Peter Joseph’s new "start-up", built by leaving TZM out to dry and taking over its social media pages.

So far, I haven’t seen much of anything meaningful coming out of it, nor any activity on their Discord server.

Auravana Project

Appears to be drifting toward partnering with someone to sell 3D digital models of circular cities.

 

3. Meme Drift and Ideological Substitution

This is where some of the scene has gone after losing the ability to build, organize, or even properly theorize.
Instead of concrete systemic work, it slides into meme politics, anti-capitalist venting, and recycled ideological content.

Moneyless Society

At this point, basically just a full-on communist meme spammer.

Resource-Based Economy

Appears to be drifting toward anti-capitalist meme posting.

Resource Based Economy Forum Global

Seems to be moving toward UBI promotion, and Marxist-style anti-capitalist politics.

 

4. Residual Activity Without Clear Traction

These are the projects that are still moving in some sense, but mostly as low-level background noise rather than as serious movement centers.

One Community Global

Still doing its own thing.

RBE10K

Memes and pop-sci.

RBE Technology, RBE Solutions Energy, RBE Solutions Transport

A little activity across all three, mostly pop-sci.

Paradism

Still showing some sporadic activity.

TROM

Still grinding along.

 

Conclusion

The RBE scene is still technically alive, well, in the same sense that fungus is alive.

Most of the paths presented above lead to the pages leaving the RBE scene, either by activity death, or becoming something else, beliefs wise.

The only groups that might still be relevant would be those in group 2, aka Zombie Rebrands and Institutional Drift(Venus Project, The Zeitgeist Movement, Accessist International, and Integral Collective).

I have a hunch the Accessist International and Peter Joseph(via his Integral Collective), will start fighting over de facto leadership of TZM, sometime during this year, to become the sole head of the much diminished Resource-Based Economy ecosystem, who's only mass following is now only within the dying embers of TZM.

Meanwhile, TVP should just quietly dissolve, transition to the Jacque Fresco Foundation, and make some cheap bucks that way..

Hello again, Disclaimer: Given most of the main actors involved in the RBE scene are either functionally dead, and the main one is now moving outside of Jacque Fresco's ideas towards general Marxist ones, i will probably continue doing this stuff for a year, or 2, and leave it to die. The Venus Project Their X still has that Netflix request form from 4 years ago. Get rid of it, guys, it's already embarrassing. In other news, Jacque Fresco's ideas are still abandoned, and placed in their Jacque Fresco Foundation website, which is the same WIP stage it's been for the past 4(!) years. Their social media presence is now moving to permaculture related stuff, in preparation to the Venus Evolution post-apocalyptic city crowdfunding, and occasionally posts where they seem to have imitated JFEN's style of taking a random JF-related picture, and filling it with hashtags, as well as making social media accounts for Jacque Fresco(tied to the above mentioned Foundation), to try ...

State of the RBE during 2024

Usually, i post these things at the start of the year, but Jesus Christ, the craziest telenovela i've ever seen has happened in the RBE(or OAE, or whatever they call it nowadays) scene during this time, and i kept postponing to see what will happen. Things seem to have stabilized, so get ready for the weirdest mess you'll read today.   Let's start with: The Venus Project I won't bring up that report, because even they gave that up, and  the post trying to get people to request the movies added to Netflix is still there , like in previous years. But the main story is that The Venus Project abandoned the teachings of Jacque Fresco. No, i'm not joking.  After the previous years of low activity, apparently they have been silently scrubbing their website of everything related to that guy, and placing it in an eternally under construction website of an entity called the  Jacque Fresco Foundation (frescofoundation.org) . All of this to make way so they can become an insane...

A history of failure

While the Venus Project it the most successful venture of Fresco and Meadows, it definitely isn't the first. In fact, it seems that for the 25 years, due to constant obscurity, they have been constantly been founding, refounding and dissolving organizations to promote their aims, in order to present themselves as something new, and mask their lack of progress with any of them. After a bunch of failed commercial ventures(probably due to the oppressive monetary system trapping him), he found a bunch of like-minded followers, and started giving lectures in his Miami home. This ad-hoc lecture thing led to the founding of Sociocyberneering, Inc., which was a minor membership club formed around various ideas which would become the hallmark of the Venus Project.
