A history of failure

While the Venus Project it the most successful venture of Fresco and Meadows, it definitely isn't the first.

In fact, it seems that for the 25 years, due to constant obscurity, they have been constantly been founding, refounding and dissolving organizations to promote their aims, in order to present themselves as something new, and mask their lack of progress with any of them.
After a bunch of failed commercial ventures(probably due to the oppressive monetary system trapping him), he found a bunch of like-minded followers, and started giving lectures in his Miami home.

This ad-hoc lecture thing led to the founding of Sociocyberneering, Inc., which was a minor membership club formed around various ideas which would become the hallmark of the Venus Project.

Various people which seem to be knowledgeable about his life¹, including the one which provided the above pic, and which was acknowledged as a former member by Jacque and Roxanne, say that, 

As the whole thing was getting in motion, Sociocyberneering got disbanded after the group signed an agreement to purchase some land near Miami where they all lived and they agreed to make regular monthly payments until the land was paid off.

But Fresco promptly dissolved the organization, due to it not allowing him total decisional control, created The Venus Project, and purchased the land for the Venus Project in the middle of Florida, 225 km away from Miami, or from any other major city, were he fled with the ownership and funds, so his investors, many of which were poor, wouldn't be able to support themselves(though they would still be allowed to "visit").

It's a fascinating clusterfuck of real estate scams, kinky threesomes, sexual jealousy, abandoned children, psychological experiments on said children, broken promises, missing money with dubious ledgers, and other parts of his stupid train wreck Fresco's movements have been since day 1.

What followed was decades of screwing around as king of the Florida swamp, with Roxanne, until the 2008 financial crisis brought him into the limelight, alongside plenty of other financial quacks, of both the capitalist variety(Peter Schiff), and the anti-capitalist one(too many to count), leading to another decade+ of promising earthly paradise, and saying only their project can save humanity from the problems of this age(just like how overpopulation, acid rain, the ozone layer, air pollution, lead pollution, and rivers on fire apparently weren't solvable without transitioning to a resource-based economy).

So let us see what NGO's they have founded in the meantime, according to public records:

-The Florida "65" Awards, Inc.-established in 1993-dead;²

-Diverse City, Inc.-established in 1994-dead;

-The Venus Project R&D Inc.-established in 1994-dead;

-The Venus Project, Inc.-established in 1995-alive;

-Architectural Arts, Inc.-established in 1997-dead;

-Global Synergistics Inc.-established in 2002-dead;

-The Evolving Earth Culture Organizing System-established in 2002-dead;

-Future by Design Inc.-established in 2003-alive;

-Resource Based Economy, Inc.-established in 2016-alive;

-Global Cybervisions, Inc.-estabilished in 2017-alive;

Of these, the only guy that actually participated in more than one organization was some dude called Steve Doll, who was in both Future by Design Inc. and Global Synergistics Inc., both founded months apart from each other.

Seems 99% of people just don't understand Jacques's glorious vision, especially after seeing him run things.

"But it seems four of them still exist!", you might say.

Well, more like two.
Global Cybervision seems just a remake of Global Synergistics, and has done nothing at all since it's inception, so i can consider it dead, and Resource Based Economy, Inc. existed merely because The Venus Project couldn't become an NGO until several years ago, after which their materials and websites got folded into the main one, so practically, it's a shell organization.

And the reason TVP had trouble becoming an NGO was because, as much as Fresco absolutely hated money, profit and corporations, it seems the only organization that he started that actually did something was...a for-profit corporation.

Yes, really.
