State of the RBE at the start of 2023

No, i haven't forgotten you guys.

Let's get it going

The Venus Project

Starting once again with the 2021 progress report.

-"Dissemination of findings and a proposed alternative to our current socioeconomic paradigm;"

Outside of some generic Twitter posts, nothing new.

Speaking of Twitter, the the post trying to get people to request the movies added to Netflix is still there.

"-A movie progress report from 2018, that kind of died in the water back then (they still raised tens of thousands of bucks for making the movie);"

Nothing new here.

"-The Center for Resource Management project, who's progress has stalled 2 years ago;"

Literally the same as it was in 2019.

"-The Transcription Project, which raised tens of thousands of dollars, and is at the same 37% it was in the spring of 2020;"

Progress was changed to 53% but there is no progress, and the comment section has been stagnant 

"-The Sociocyberneering Education Project I mentioned last year as basically the RBE Jehovah Witness program. To sign up, you need to buy the course materials, which cost 300+ US dollars, because of course they do."

Nothing new.

But i must say it is interesting, and i unironically congratulate them on the development of their automated gardening project in India. Let's hope it continues.

Zeitgeist Movement

Has been reduced to a generic anti-capitalist Facebook & Discord page and server, and occasionally doing a movie night.

Also, Peter Joseph got banned from Twitter, which is funny, and is now basically MIA on social media.

Moneyless Society

Their idea to generate an sustainable income stream failed.
The continue to make their articles, and they did release a good booklet. 

Otherwise nothing.

Auravana Project - happy with his wife, participating in intentional community and smart city conferences;

Copiosis - some generic posts about how their system is slowly happening;

Koto Coop - still doing their thing, independently from TZM. Good for them;

One Community Global - building their specs;

RBE10K - still doing pop-sci;

RBE Technology, RBE Solutions Energy, RBE Solutions Transport - pop-sci and conspiracy stuff;

Paradism - can't find them anymore;

TROM - still doing his thing;

Jacque Fresco Educational Network - like all zealots, he burned bright, but briefly. The project is basically on hiatus now;

Resource-Based Economy - seems to have turned into a place where related groups like Moneyless or Edenia post their ideas;

Resource Based Economy Forum Global - seems to have been the biggest RBE Facebook group, but for some months, the only thing happening is a guy called Nick Willcocks posting pop-sci articles; 

Quantum Transition to a Resource Based Economy - all posts seems to be deleted;

Conclusion:

Compared to last year, the RBE scene has a couple of interesting developments, namely the organic farm experiment of TVP, and Koto continuing to try to bring it to life.

But as a whole, the scene is growing more and more obscure and impotent, as seen in the Google Trends graph below.
